How the Education Improvement Institute uses personal information received through this website, correspondence and limited professional outreach.
Effective date: 1 August 2026
Who is responsible for your information
ASOC EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT INSTITUTE (EII), Spanish tax identification number G76800564, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Our address is Calle Fernández Navarro 9, Planta 1, Puerta C, 38003 Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. For questions or to exercise your data protection rights, contact sean@eii.edu.eu.
Information we receive
If you contact EII, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, professional role, organisation, email address, enquiry and subsequent correspondence.
For limited business-to-business partnership and product-research outreach, we may also use professional contact and organisation information from publicly accessible sources such as an organisation's website, Companies House and public professional profiles. We record the source and use only information relevant to the proposed professional conversation.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use contact information to respond to enquiries, deliver requested services, administer relationships, and discuss relevant research, services or partnership opportunities. We rely on steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, consent where required, or our legitimate interests in proportionate business development, product validation and relationship management, depending on the context.
Where we rely on legitimate interests for professional outreach, we target a small, relevant audience, limit frequency, avoid sensitive information and provide a simple way to object. We assess the separate electronic-marketing rules before contact. We do not sell personal information or use it to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Recipients and service providers
Access is limited to authorised EII personnel and the providers needed to operate our services. NameWeb BV, trading as bNamed, provides domain, DNS and website-hosting services; its material infrastructure providers include OVH SAS and Frantech. Zoho Corporation B.V. provides EII's email service and processes message addresses, content, metadata and account-security information. A recipient's own email provider also processes a message when we correspond with them. These providers may act as processors or independent controllers depending on the service and legal obligation. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
EII's primary website hosting is in France, failover hosting is in Switzerland, backups, logs and monitoring are in Belgium, and bNamed's domain-registration platform is hosted in the United Kingdom. EII's Zoho Mail account stores service data in Zoho's European Union data centre. Zoho's DPA provides for need-based support access from India and, for customers from Spain, support access from group entities in Mexico and Colombia. A message is also transmitted to the recipient's chosen email provider, which may operate elsewhere. Transfers to countries covered by an applicable adequacy decision rely on that decision; other restricted transfers require approved contractual safeguards and appropriate supplementary measures. You may contact us for information about the safeguard relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected and applicable legal obligations. For a BITE partnership prospect who does not respond, we delete or anonymise prospect research within 90 days after the final contact. We review active relationship records at least annually. If you object to direct marketing, we retain a minimal suppression record for as long as needed to ensure that we do not contact you again for that purpose.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may ask for access to or correction of your information, request erasure or restriction, object to processing, and request data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You have an absolute right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing. Reply to the message or email sean@eii.edu.eu; we will stop that marketing and add the minimum information needed to our suppression list.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or, where applicable, your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
